Welcome to
our
Hawks
Miss Millie, Given to me at 11
weeks old by John Wilson, a dear
friend who is missed by all who
met him. Miss Millie went on to
13 years old. This little bird
deserves a special mention.
Retired in her 10th season, she
accounted for an impessive head
of quarry including a few
Partridge although Black Bird
and Magpie were her speciality.
Humbug, a Red Tailed Hawk with our
son Daniel then aged 10). Daniel has
accompanied me hawking since he was
four years old and now helps where
possible. Humbug hunts Rabbits with
all the determination and style of a
Goshawk and is a pure joy to fly.
Humbug renamed after she killed a
Robin that flew into her mews on
Christmas Morning.
Falcons
Home
I have an affinity to Scotland, a country
that has given me great many of my
fondest memorys. As a keen gun, I can
recall my best shots, as a Falconer I can
recall every detail of a flight.
Pictured left: When it all comes together
one Goshawk, one Harris Hawk, one
vizsla, one Irish Red & White Setter,
two dedicated falconers and a week in
Scotland equals 103 Rabbits 18 Blue
Hare and 4 Phesants.
Falconry is not about numbers of head
taken but the style of the flight, but
sometimes one is given the opportunity
to achieve both.
